HT 2
With regards to this weeks reading, primarily on the establishment of the Red Cross, our group discussed the idea behind the value of life and how that can directly correlate to the ongoing issue of human trafficking. While in regards to the creation of the Red Cross, a clear message that was reiterated often was that of helping any wounded in need, regardless of ethnicity, religion etc. By applying that same value to human trafficking, our group posed the question regarding helping those who are victims of human trafficking, specifically those being trafficked between North Korea and China- does there seem to be a distinction of race and religion when it comes to helping those who are suffering from the labor camps and other harsh and inhumane treatment as a result of being subject to human trafficking? Furthermore, why isn't there a greater value of human life for those endangered by Human Trafficking. We know that the Red Cross is a national organization, and we are interested in whether or not there are many other similar help based organizations found around the world, specifically in regions where human trafficking is occurring.
