HT Team #1

From the Segment 4 readings, our group was able to pick out a few points.  First, there is a question of moral obligation in terms of people coming to the country illegally.  It is obvious that those in human trafficking should be helped.  However, our question is what to do with human trafficking victims after they have been helped since they are most likely in the country illegally.  Is there an obligation to help them stay in the country or should they be sent to their country of origin?

Another point comes from the Kaufmann article specifically.  As it was described, there were high costs to stopping the slave trade and the reason why people tried to stop the practice was because of a moral interest.  It would be interesting to research the politics behind human trafficking and what efforts are being done to stop human trafficking.  With these efforts, what are the costs?  No matter what the costs, human trafficking should be stopped for moral reasons.
